Ceramics with a sense of place & purpose

I design and craft a range of unique English Ceramics using tactile, earthy clays and natural glazes. My Studio is an old Gamestore in the grounds of our renovated Georgian Stables, I’m blessed with wonderful natural light from the surrounding countryside, and a generous workroom with an inspirational vaulted ceiling, allowing me the space and freedom to create my ceramics with a sense of place and purpose.

I tend to throw smaller items that have more than one function, ceramics that have a useful purpose, but are equally beautiful as quiet conversation pieces that elevate the home. My signature pieces, are a range of column vases, inspired by our collection of architectural stone masonry - they can be used as the perfect candle holders, or to display fresh flora from the garden, they’re great as bookends or pen holders in the home office; they’re rather unique and difficult to put down as they have a beautiful velvet soft glaze.

Although I’m always open for commissions, I don’t thrive on larger production throwing, I’m happiest creating a wonderful set of Cappuccino cups that become family favourites, or breakfast bowls people gravitate towards for their morning rituals. To me, ceramics are a way of expressing personality, each piece has a different and unique beauty - only small batch throwing gives me that wonderful joy.
