Bring the outdoors in
There’s a collective exhale when the first true days of Spring arrive—a soft, almost imperceptible shift in the air that feels like waking from a long sleep. The world begins to breathe again, carrying with it the scent of freshness, of possibility, of quiet new beginnings. Doors are flung open, and suddenly everything is alive: tender shoots, unfurling petals, the gentle hum of honey bees weaving their way through the day. Blossom, in all its fleeting beauty, feels almost miraculous—an unspoken promise that warmth and light have returned. It’s impossible not to be moved by it, and even the smallest clipped sprig, brought indoors, seems to carry that joy with it, as though Spring itself has crossed the threshold.
In the studio, I’m always drawn back to creating small vessels and vases—pieces that feel intimate, unassuming, yet quietly profound. There is something deeply satisfying in shaping these simple forms, knowing they will cradle a moment of the season: a single blossom, a handful of stems, an unexpected burst of colour. They don’t demand attention, but instead gently elevate what they hold, allowing those fleeting, impromptu arrangements to breathe life into a room. Placed throughout the home, they become small anchors of beauty—subtle reminders to pause, to notice, and to let those moments of softness and renewal quietly nourish the soul.
